We're delighted to announce we've been successful in securing £10.3m under the Government Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 2.1.
The grant will be used to improve the energy efficiency of 1,491 homes across Kent, Sussex, London, and the Isle of Wight over the next two years.
Our retrofit investment programme will improve energy efficiency and have a real positive impact on the quality, affordability and comfort of our homes. As well as keeping future energy bills low for our residents, the investment will also reduce the likelihood of damp and mould and improve satisfaction. This grant supports our ambition to have all our homes at an EPC C rating by 2030, and achieve net carbon zero by 2050. Our Sustainability Strategy and the Net Zero Carbon roadmap co-created with our residents are well aligned with The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s aims and objectives.
We have an established retrofit programme working with partners Pellings and VINCI Facilities to improve the energy efficiency of our homes. The grant will allow the acceleration of investment plans and support expanding our supply chain to deliver improvements to our homes across our portfolio.
This investment will help thousands of households to heat their homes for less, keep them warm for longer and could save hundreds on their annual energy bill. The green energy sector is growing, and this funding will support green jobs and provide the training needed to deliver these vital upgrades to homes.
