We’re offering a number of free accredited training courses for Southern Housing residents in London available from 5 June. These training courses include:
Software tester training
We’re offering the opportunity to gain free software tester training providing you with the thorough knowledge and the essential skills needed in the IT sector. We’ll even connect you to our employers.
Training method:
- Must be available for 8 days, 10am to 2:30pm everyday
- In person, classroom based training
- Develop report writing, understanding process, carry out various testing
- Participant will be assessed each day
- End to end support provided
- Interviews (TBC)
To be eligible for this course you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility requirements:
- Aged 22+
- Right to work and valid photo ID
- Current proof of address
- Not in any paid employment
- Able to read and write in English
- Have attention to detail
- Able to communicate effectively and follow procedures
- Have intermediate IT skills
- Willing and Eagerness to learn
- Access to laptop/ computer

Security (SIA) Training and badge
Looking for a job in the security industry? We can help!
We’re offering you the opportunity to undergo our free security training with a mandatory First Aid training and we’ll even pay for the badge when you qualify. Once you’ve got your badge, we’ll connect you to our employers for a job as security officer.
To be eligible for this course you must be available for 7 days (end to end support provided) and must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility requirements:
- Aged 18+
- Right to work in the UK and valid photo ID
- Valid proof of address
- 5 years checkable history in the UK
- Not in any paid employment
- Participants must be vigilant and able to carry out physical intervention (for SIA)
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Able to communicate effectively and follow instructions
- Must complete all days required for this course.

Construction (CSCS) training and card
Thing of a career in the construction industry? We can help!
We’re offering free CSCS training and we’ll even pay for the card when you qualify. Once you get your card we’ll set you up with our employers for job opportunities as a general laborour.
Training Breakdown
Step 1: Level 1 Health and safety in the construction industry
Step 2: CSCS revision and mock tests
Step 3: CITB test
Step 4: Apply for CSCS card
Step 5: Guaranteed interviews
To be eligible for this course you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility requirements:
- Aged 16+
- Right to work in the UK and valid photo ID
- Valid proof of address
- Not in any paid employment
- Some construction knowledge/ experience
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must complete all days required for this course
- Access to tablet/ computer

Supported Housing Officer training & interview
Looking for a career in the Housing sector?
We’re offering free supported housing officer training.
We will provide you with thorough knowledge and the essential skills required to be a Supported Housing Officer.
Training method:
- Four days in person training
- Participant will be assessed each day
- Interviews (TBC)
To be eligible for this course you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility requirements:
- Aged 24+
- Right to work and valid photo ID
- Current proof of address
- Not in any paid employment
- Basic IT skills
- Willing and Eagerness to learn
- Able to provide 2 references.
