Earth Month is always a great time of year to celebrate our surroundings and reflect on what we’re doing to help our environment. This year’s theme for Earth Month was Our Power, Our Planet – and it really drives home the message that the power to sustain our planet sits with us.
"Over the last four weeks, we’ve showcased the incredible work that we're doing alongside residents to support the environment."
Our incredible Resident Sustainability Champions have worked hard to continue our engagement and learning by passing on their tips, tricks and outstanding knowledge on all thing’s sustainability – and what we can change in order to make a difference.
And not only that, our colleagues and residents have worked together to complete a successful litter pick across Milton Creek Country Park, Kent. With a total of 20 bags of rubbish collected, it was not only a fantastic achievement but an empowering response to making a difference within our local communities, with our local community.
The fantastic work of our Estate Services team shouldn’t go unmentioned, with them smashing the target of enhancing 30 sites to boost biodiversity across our greenspaces, doubling this to improve an amazing 60 sites to date.
These are all huge wins for our organisation and our environment, but our hard work doesn’t stop there. We must continue to work together, with our colleagues, residents, partners and communities to have a hand in improving our ecosystems, looking after our wildlife, taking care of our planet. Working together, making the small changes, is how we will see the difference and achieve our goals set out in our Environmental Sustainability Strategy.
Thank you to each and every one of you who’ve made this Earth Month unforgettable.
Here’s to a greener future.
