We need your skills and lived experience to help us provide the best services we can to you.

We’ve a new resident structure for Southern Housing, designed to reflect the diversity of our communities, strengthen your voice and hold us to account.

And we’re looking for new independent members of our Resident Strategy Group. This is for residents who are not on any other panels in the structure and will represent their region.

This is a strategic role which will see you scrutinise the way we do things, bring new ideas to the table and learn new skills. Working with senior staff, help us shape new policies and strategies.

You can influence the decisions that affect you and all other Southern Housing residents.

Does this sound like you?

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t been part of a panel or committee before. All we ask is that you:

  • Communicate constructively and objectively
  • Know about issues affecting fellow residents
  • Want to make a difference.

This role is perfect for anyone who is naturally inquisitive, with good questioning skills, a team player who can work with a variety of stakeholders, and someone who can make a balanced judgement.

What does it involve?

You’ll need to actively participate in meetings (five per year), share your perspective on key issues, review information in reports, and work closely with senior Southern Housing staff.

In return, we’ll give you free training and guidance, and we’ll pay out-of-pocket expenses. You can also claim an incentive payment for participating in meetings. £75 per meeting up to £375 per year.
