The kitchen at 22 Argyll Street has undergone a vibrant transformation - and residents were at the heart of it.
In line with our commitment to person-centred care, residents actively shaped the renovation, from choosing the colour scheme through a house-wide vote to keeping a close eye on daily progress. Their enthusiasm and involvement even sparked some light-hearted debate over the placement of the sink!
Beyond looking good, the new kitchen has introduced safer, more modern appliances and an improved layout, supporting safer food preparation and cooking practices.

Ashley Barrier, Registered Manager at 22 Argyll Street, said: “We’re committed to person-centred care. We believe that empowering residents to participate in decisions about their surroundings promotes a true sense of ownership and wellbeing. By reflecting their choices, we support and encourage independence. This approach resulted in a brighter, safer, and more welcoming space.”
This project is a shining example of how collaboration with residents leads to spaces that are not only functional and safe, but also deeply personal.
