Residents from our single homeless pathway on the Isle of Wight enjoyed an evening that couldn’t be topped this week.
Firing up their new charcoal pizza oven on the patio, they were invited for a sunny evening of making pizzas in the garden, encouraging them to get together, connect, learn new skills and feel empowered in their daily lives.
Residents were involved in the whole process, from start to finish. They prepped the toppings, assembled and cooked the pizzas and helped to clean up, giving them the kind of hands-on experience that’ll help boost their confidence.
The pizzas went down a treat, with everyone agreeing that there’s something about a proper pizza oven that takes the taste to the next level - there was even a bit of a friendly competition about whose creation was best.
The evening was a brilliant example of how residents are supported to live well through everyday moments, turning a simple dinner into a shared experience of independence, connection and choice.
