Improving resident engagement

You said: “We want to have a real say in the services that affect our homes and communities and we want it to be easy to get involved.”

We did: “We’re changing how we work with residents so more people can share their views in way that suits them, whether that’s online, locally or just from time to time.”

What we’ve changed

We’ve brought our engagement activity together in one online space; the Resident Engagement Hub.

This makes it easier for all residents to see what’s happening, share feedback and get involved without having to search across different pages.

We know not everyone wants to join a committee or attend regular meetings.

That’s why we now offer a mix of one off activities including: short surveys, online feedback and local sessions, so residents can take part in a way that works for them.

We use a combination of online tools, local engagement and face to face conversations to hear from residents across our communities, including people who don’t usually get involved.

We adapt how we engage to meet different needs.

This includes thinking about timing, formats, accessibility and offering extra support where needed, so residents feel confident taking part.

We’re improving how we show the difference you made, using a clear “you said, we did” approach so people can see how their views are making a difference.

We support residents with information, training and guidance so they feel confident getting involved and influencing decisions whether that’s locally or at a wider organisational level.
