There are four tower blocks on the site name Bevin Court, Roosevelt Court, Churchill Court and Kennedy Court. They are better known as the Four Courts.
After listening to residents, stakeholders, and the wider community, we recognise the Four Courts no longer meets modern housing standards.
The design and layout of flats doesn’t meet modern mobility standards, and the physical constraints of the buildings restrict the opportunities to modernise these blocks to the standards residents expect.
We’ve carefully considered all options and believe this is a unique opportunity to create new, high-quality social homes that better serve the needs of current and future residents.
Five houses on the edge of the site are also earmarked to be part of the regeneration.
We believe this is a once in a generation opportunity to create modern homes the people of Hastings can be proud of.
All new homes built on the site will remain social housing, reinforcing Southern Housing's dedication to providing affordable and sustainable homes for local people.
Stonehouse View is a positive step towards addressing housing challenges in the area while maintaining strong community ties.
We’ll use our borrowing capacity to fund the development of new social housing at Stonehouse View.
We’ve had early conversations with Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, about securing grant funding for the new social homes.
A planning application is set to be submitted to Hastings Borough Council by the end of 2026.
We've been holding engagement sessions to gather input from residents and stakeholders. These will help shape the future plans for the site.
Yes, a new community hub and nursery will be provided as part of the Stonehouse View regeneration plans. We’re working with In2Play to develop the design and specification of the new nursery building.
The site is big enough to provide more social housing than the number of homes currently provided by the Four Courts.
Stonehouse View will include a mix of home types to meet local housing needs. We’re confident we’ll be able to maintain good open areas as well.
We know the site can achieve more homes than currently on the estate and believe we can achieve approximately 450 new homes including apartments, maisonettes and houses.
This website is dedicated to the Stonehouse View regeneration project. If you wish to report a repair, please contact Southern Housing via the usual channels.
We’ve a dedicated web page for our Four Courts residents covering topics which aren’t related to the regeneration.
We want to ensure the surrounding community is fully informed about our plans for Stonehouse View.
A letter was sent on 31 July 2026 to residents living in Sydney Close, Adelaide Road, Hollington Old Lane, Coventry Road, Stream Cottages, Oxford Road, Stonehouse Drive and Lewis Road. Neighbouring businesses on the Ponswood Industrial Estate received the same letter on 4 August 2026.
A copy of the letter is available to view here.
We’ll be holding a public information event between 3pm and 7pm on Monday 12 October 2026 in the Four Courts Community Hub. This will give neighbours and businesses the opportunity to meet our Regeneration Team, architects and consultants, and ask any questions they have. We will be sending invites out in September.
In the meantime, please get in touch if you’re a neighbour or business and have any questions.
