We loved the rain,
We would make mud pies,
I would love to do it again!

There was a drain cover in Gran’s back yard,
Perfect when it rained very hard!

We put on our wellies,
our oil skin coats and our hats
To wade in with our buckets and spades

We filled our buckets with dirt,
Mixed it with rain to make our pies,
In the wells in the drain cover,
I would love to do it all over again.

Now I am not sure how to begin,
The years are passing by,
Sometimes I’m slow to learn

One lasting hurt often caused by just one wrong spoken word,
I now have such a privilege when I am with you,
My friends, my staff and these are very special times that I never want to end

Good friends sometimes have shoulders we need to cry upon,
But above all they are someone we can always rely upon
So yes, I will put my hand in yours and feel that gentle squeeze,
I have now for life someone who will hear.
