Introducing
the Shine Bright Awards
As part of our 125th anniversary celebrations, we've launched the Shine Bright Awards to recognise the amazing residents who make a real difference in our communities.
Do you know a good neighbour, a dedicated volunteer or someone who goes out of their way to support others? Now's your chance to give them the recognition they deserve.
We've created five award categories to celebrate the people who help make our communities great places to live. You can nominate as many people as you like but get your entries in by Monday 12 October.
A panel of residents and colleagues will then review all nominations and choose the winners. Each winner will receive a prize and will be featured in the winter edition of Shine.
Shine’s Community Champion
Every community has a superstar behind the scenes. This award recognises the person who rolls up their sleeves, rallies others and helps their community shine a little brighter. Their enthusiasm, generosity and community spirit leave a lasting impact on the people around them.
Shine’s Youth Inspiration
For the young changemaker who's doing amazing things. From showing resilience in tough times to brightening the lives of others, this award celebrates a young person (18 or under) whose actions inspire the people around them.
Shine’s Planet Protector
This one's for the eco-heroes who are always thinking green, either in their everyday actions or through a big project. From cutting waste and saving resources to encouraging others to do their bit, this award celebrates someone whose passion for the planet shines through in everything they do.
Shine’s Supportive Neighbour
Do you know someone who makes life a little brighter? This is one for the local good eggs, who are always looking out for others. From small acts of kindness to being a dependable friend, they help create a community where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Shine’s 125 Shining Star Award
Our top award recognises an extraordinary individual whose actions, achievements or kindness have left a real mark on their community.
Whether they've overcome challenges, achieved something remarkable or made a lasting difference to others, they inspire those around them through their strength, determination and generosity.
