In January 2026, residents across Southern Housing shared their thoughts on our proposed new Pests Policy. Many residents told us the policy was straightforward and easy to follow. They liked the parts explaining what counts as a pest, what actions residents need to take, and when Southern Housing should step in to help.
Residents also highlighted the policy wasn’t clear about whether Leaseholders and Shared Owners were included. We’ve now updated the policy to make this clear. Based on resident feedback, we’ve also added bees and wasps’ nests to the examples of pests.
