Bob Russell was invited to showcase his extraordinary garden to the public this summer, as part of the St Michael’s Hospice Open Garden Scheme. He’s hoping to inspire others to get involved with nature and wildlife.

We believe Bob is the first Southern Housing resident to be involved in this scheme and he likely crafted the only garden in the whole programme that’s tropical!

The annual open garden event showcased six gardens in the village of Northiam, raising over £3,700 for the hospice. In total, the scheme raised over £39,000.

Approximately 290 people visited over the two-week period, enjoying a rare peak into some of the most beautiful gardens in the area that would normally be hidden away.

Well done Bob!
