Green-fingered residents at Badger Gate Independent Living Scheme will receive free compost and expert advice for their new gardening project, thanks to a chance meeting at the Tiling Green Community Centre Garden.

The residents were visiting the community centre garden for their coffee morning, when they bumped into Graham Ellis, a Sussex area panel member and champion for biodiversity and the environment. Graham kindly agreed to guide them and provide free compost for their new vegetable planters.

The residents will be applying for funding through the Biodiversity Fund, to install raised planters, so they can grow their own vegetables in time for spring. Once the planters are in place, Graham will provide the compost and assist with any advice they need on how to get the very best from the seeds they sow!
